Family Photography {Oak Mountain State Park, AL}

When Genevra and I decided on the location for her family’s session, the main factor was that the kids would have fun, and we could not have been more right about our choice! From the moment little Henry and Ava got out of the car at Oak Mountain farm, they were all smiles. I’m not sure if it was really the location, or the “pop-pop” that Mom and Dad had promised them when they were finished taking pictures! However, we will pretend that it was our fun filled morning that made them so happy! We were able to play with several of the horses, and Henry taught me all about the animals that live on the farm! He even let me know that the pond at Oak Mountain farm was too deep to have fish living in it…you learn something new every day!:)It was a very chilly morning, but they were troopers and didn’t let it stop them. This session is proof that getting family portraits taken doesn’t have to be boring or painful…we were even able to enjoy the treat together at the end of our adventure.

2012 Spring Mini Sessions! {Birmingham, AL}

I cant believe it’s already time to start scheduling Spring Mini Sessions. I know it’s early, but time is flying by and these sessions book up fast. I am already dreaming of warmer weather, green grass and bright colored flowers anyways, so why not start planning my favorite mini sessions? Information and details are below.

This year I am offering two mini session dates at  seperate locations. These can be pictures of the whole family or just of the kids.  The time slots will be filled in order of email inquiries, so don’t wait if you want to reserve a date and time!

*In case of rain, I have a date set aside for a “make-up” day.

*It is imperative that you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled time to insure your session runs smoothly. These sessions will be fast, so please be sure children are “prepped” as much as possible. Also, please remember to bring any snacks that may help a grumpy face become happy again.

*You will have your choice of using several “vintage” props.  Some of the props that I will offer are chairs, a quilt, a flag banner, a picnic basket, children’s books, and an old suitcase.

Whether you want to do the spring vintage theme that I will offer, or if you just want a few classic pictures surrounded by the bright colors of spring, I am going to give a few suggestions on what to wear for your mini sessions. Textures, patterns, layers, colors. None of the overdone white and khaki. Be BOLD! But most importantly think LAYERS and accessories….hats, ties, leg warmers, headbands, vests, jackets, belts, jewelry, etc. Etsy has so many great options for childrens clothes: JemiBoutique, ItsSewCuteBoutique, LittleBoats, WeChoseJoy….just to name a few. The link below is also a great guide for what to wear to a photoshoot:

Get $15 towards your next session! How?
1) Book your mini session with me
2) Refer Ashley C Photography to a friend
3) When they contact me, be sure that they tell me your name
4) If they book a session with me for any time during 2012, you will receive a $15 certificate!

Please let me know if you have any questions, and don’t forget to book  your session soon!

Holiday Season {Birmingham, AL

I am finally catching up with my pictures and blog posts after a very long and busy holiday season! I’m excited to get back in the swing of things, and I am even more excited to finally be able to share a few of the pictures I’ve taken throughout the past month. I was able to spend a lot of time with clients, new and old, and could not be more blessed that I have a job where I get to meet so many wonderful people!

With the next couple of months being the coldest of the year, I am used to things being pretty quiet around here. However, I’m glad to say that the month of January is completely booked up already, and I am booking more and more sessions every few days. I am looking forward to my upcoming sessions…maybe  one or two of my sessions will even see snow!? I know, wishful thinking.
